Robust construction was the only line of defense. All HEMIs packed cross-bolted main caps, forged pistons, dual valve springs, baffled oil pans and more to ensure durability. The Street HEMI&#8217;s status as a mildly de-tuned (but not de-contented) racing engine gave it the baked-in strength it needed to survive the rigors imposed by John Q.
